Peaceful Escape at Caleruega Church

"Closer to Nature, Closer to God"

That's the theme of the place, and it's true. It is a place for retreats and meditation, very serene and beautiful. There is a map here, after the Nasugbu arch turn right, not more than 5 minutes you can see the entrance on the left side, there is a banner - you wont miss it. The road to the church is a bit rough, there is an entrance of P30.00 for maintenance, a place that beautiful needs to be maintained.

This are the rates if you want to spend the night.

Here are some pictures taken.
The Flowers

More Flowers and a small pond

The Chapel on the Hill - you have to do a little trek and pass by a hanging bridge to reach this place... worth it!

The Hanging Bridge

Transfiguration Chapel

There are rooms here and cafeteria below...this is the first building you will see, looks like a chapel outside but hotel on the inside. There are also retreat houses around the place.

A Statue on the Hill just beside the Transfiguration Chapel.
It's just sad that even in the Chapel itself (Transfiguration Chapel), maybe some people thought it still is a place to have a photo shoot. It's like after a wedding or baptismal, you can here "ok, one two three... smile", "move to the left, ok compress"- you can do that around the place... its big. It's a Chapel, people are praying.

We just went to caleruega a couple days ago and my God the GUARDS WERE SO RUDE. They made us go back to the car to leave the food and the picnic mat we brought because we looked like we were gonna do a prenup and so we obeyed. After that they told our friend to change because she was wearing a dress that they said was for prenups so they went back to the car for the second time and changed. Then after a while we FINALY got in but were followed by another guard because we still looked like we were gonna do a prenup (I was holding an SLR camera). They even made a scene by shouting at us demanding that we go out. We went straight to the management and told them what happened. We even talked to the priest and showed him the photos in our camera which were normal photos of us and the scenery much like what you see on facebook. So we were allowed to go in. But because of the stress of it all we didnt get to appreciate Caleruega and we didnt event have time to pray because we were so pissed. (One of my friends was even pregnant so imagine the stress!!)

Those guards work in a house of prayer, they should at least learn how to treat people right.

ADVISE FOR PEOPLE PLANNING TO GO TO CALERUEGA:
DONT WEAR DRESSES OR BRING HIGH END CAMERAS BECAUSE GUARDS THERE ARE BEYOND WORDS RUDE IF THEY THINK YOURE GONNA GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN.

(FYI: May fee kasi pag mag preprenup kaya sila ganon. Dahil sa FEE. Hay buhay. God bless na lang.)

this is my opinion and this opinion was based from what we experienced at this "house of prayer"

Sobrang ironic yung catch phrase nila "Close to nature, closer to God." If they're really closer to God (since they work there everyday) they should reflect Jesus in their actions.

GOD BLESS THOSE PEOPLE.

Go to Pink Sisters, Oasis or other places instead.
sayang lang pagod sa Caleruega.
